Organic Rosehip Shells — Tea-Grade Wholesale from Romania

Tea blenders and herbal-infusion brands rely on rosehip shells (Rosa canina pericarp) for natural colour, a clean tart profile and a naturally high vitamin C content. The commercial grade for tea use is the shell — pericarp separated from seeds and irritant hairs — cut to a 2-5 mm particle that brews cleanly in both loose-leaf and filter-bag formats.

TANDOR looks for organic rosehip shells from Romanian collectors working wild Rosa canina stands, where the hips ripen to a deep crimson with the colour intensity that blenders look for. After hand-harvest in late autumn, hips are mechanically de-seeded, the shells dried below 50 degrees Celsius to preserve pigment and acidity, then sieved and cut to the requested particle profile. Suppliers are asked for a Certificate of Analysis documenting moisture at or below 10 percent, ash content, particle distribution, microbiology (total plate, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella), pesticide residues under EU organic protocols, and heavy metals against EU 2023/915. Irradiation-free and ETO-free processing is documented on the spec sheet.

Packaging is 10 or 20 kg multi-wall paper sacks with food-grade liners, palletised and shrink-wrapped for export. Suppliers offer tea-cut, fine-cut for filter-bag lines, or whole shell for buyers who prefer to mill in-house.
