Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) is one of the few botanicals where formulators routinely specify two distinct oils from the same fruit. Pulp oil — pressed from the orange flesh and skin — is the carotenoid-loaded, omega-7-rich (palmitoleic acid) input that drives the deep saffron colour and the regenerative positioning in skin and mucosal care. Seed oil is paler, carries the omega-3 alpha-linolenic and omega-6 linoleic fraction, and behaves more like a conventional cosmetic carrier.

Romania is a meaningful EU-side producer of Hippophae rhamnoides, with established plantations across Moldavia and the southern Carpathian foothills supplying both the food-and-beverage and the cosmetic-and-nutraceutical channels.
