EU-Organic Chamomile Flower — Tea-Grade Wholesale from Premium Origins
EU-origin Matricaria chamomilla, apigenin and chamazulene rich, tea-grade whole flower head. Premium quality over Egyptian volume. 24h quotes via TANDOR.
Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) sits in a peculiar global market position. Egypt dominates volume — roughly a fifth to a quarter of global supply — and serves the commodity end of the tea trade. EU-origin chamomile, primarily from Hungary, Croatia and Romania, is a different commercial product: smaller, more carefully handled lots that tea blenders and premium brand owners specify when apigenin content, chamazulene-rich essential-oil fraction and intact flower-head appearance matter for the finished cup.
TANDOR brokers EU-Organic chamomile from Carpathian and Pannonian-basin growers who sieve and grade flower heads for the tea-grade specification: whole intact heads, minimal stem fragments, deep gold to yellow-green colour, and the distinctive sweet-apple aroma that downgraded or over-dried material loses. Each lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis covering essential-oil content by hydrodistillation (with chamazulene noted where applicable), apigenin reference data on request, moisture below 12 percent, microbiology including total plate count and yeast-and-mould, heavy metals against EU 2023/915, and pesticide residues under organic protocols. Irradiation-free and ETO-free processing is documented per lot.
Packaging is 5, 10 or 20 kg multi-wall paper sacks with food-grade liners, palletised for export. Whole-flower tea grade is the default; cut grades for filter-bag lines and flower-head extract feed-stock for cosmetic formulators are available on request. Lead time on inventory is two weeks; the European harvest window means Q4 and Q1 launches should be indexed by late spring. If you are blending a calming infusion line, a sleep-positioned tea, or sourcing flower for hydrodistillation, share your particle spec, essential-oil target and volume — we will respond with a DDP offer within 24 hours.
